The First Tee

Established in 1997, the First Tee junior golf program is an national program whose focus is on empowering our youth and teaching life skills with golf as the platform. The First Tee curriculum was developed by experts in the field of positive youth development and focuses on teaching nine core values.

We believe that golf offers a great “classroom” for learning interpersonal relations, goal setting, self management and resiliency skills. These four LIFE SKILLS are delivered to participants in a seamless way of coaching that encourages exploration and self discovery. Developing these four skills can help kids face challenges at home, school, and at play in a constructive manner.

Special thanks to the Bellingham Bay Rotary Club, the Lake Padden Men's Club and the Lake Padden Ladies Club for their charitable donations. If you would like to donate towards the scholarship fund please contact Phil or go to the donations page.
